Functional Age Check

How your body is ageing, measured in 30 minutes.

What it measures

A 30-minute, clinician-led set of physical tests: grip strength, sit-to-stand, balance, the sitting–rising test, walking speed, timed up-and-go, a step test, a lung function screen and waist-to-height ratio.

What the evidence says

Grip strength, leg strength, balance and walking speed are some of the best-studied predictors of independence, falls and survival as we age. Unlike most “biological age” tests, every one of them can be improved with training.

Who it suits

Anyone who wants a practical baseline before starting a training plan, and anyone over 50 who wants to know where they stand.

Preparation
Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes. No fasting.
Results
On the day, with a written summary.

suPAR inflammation & biological age

Your long-term inflammation, turned into a biological age.

What it measures

A blood test for suPAR, a protein released by activated immune cells. Your report converts the level into an estimated biological age and pace of ageing.

What the evidence says

Unlike CRP, which jumps after a cold, suPAR stays fairly steady, so it reflects long-term, low-grade inflammation. Higher levels predict heart disease and diabetes in large studies and fall with weight loss, exercise and stopping smoking. It has not yet been shown to improve health outcomes when used for screening.

Who it suits

People who want a re-testable marker to track lifestyle changes over months.

Preparation
Avoid testing during or just after an infection. No fasting.

NAD⁺ level test

A snapshot of a molecule linked to cellular energy.

What it measures

A blood test measuring NAD⁺, a molecule your cells use to turn food into energy and to repair DNA.

What the evidence says

NAD⁺ levels fall with age in laboratory studies. But there is no agreed healthy level in people, and supplements that raise NAD⁺ have not been shown to extend healthy life. We think it is interesting information, not a basis for big decisions.

Who it suits

People already taking or considering NAD⁺ supplements who want a measured level before and after.

Preparation
The sample is kept chilled and analysed within 72 hours, so we book it on a weekday. No fasting.

Lipoprotein(a) blood test

The inherited heart risk most people have never had checked.

What it measures

A blood test for Lp(a), a cholesterol-carrying particle whose level is set mainly by your genes.

What the evidence says

About 1 in 5 people have a raised Lp(a), which increases the risk of heart attack, stroke and narrowing of the aortic valve. A normal cholesterol test does not show it. Because it barely changes through life, most people only need it measured once. A high result changes how hard you and your doctor push on blood pressure, ApoB and other risks.

Who it suits

Anyone with a family history of early heart disease or stroke, and anyone who has never had it measured.

Preparation
No fasting.

Usually within 2 to 3 working days.

Extended longevity blood panel

Our most comprehensive set of longevity bloods.

What it measures

NAD⁺, CoQ10, hs-CRP, TNF-alpha, cholesterol profile, ApoB, Lp(a), homocysteine, HbA1c, insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), kidney function, omega-3/6, vitamin D, vitamins and minerals, IGF-1, glutathione peroxidase and ApoE genotype.

What the evidence says

It includes the markers with strong evidence (ApoB, Lp(a), HbA1c, kidney function) alongside newer ones with limited evidence. Most results will not change your plan, some will prompt a useful conversation, and a few may be false alarms. ApoE genotype is a genetic result about Alzheimer’s risk that some people prefer not to know, so we talk it through with you first.

Who it suits

People who want everything measured and are comfortable with uncertain results.

Preparation
Fasting for 8 to 10 hours (water only) is best. We confirm when you book.
